Over the Easter break the Times newspaper published their annual secondary school league table and we were delighted to see that Forrester High School has entered the top 100 schools in ��Ҵ�ý for the first time. The article also noted that Forrester High School is the most improved school in the whole of ��Ҵ�ý over the last decade in terms of the percentage of pupils leaving with 5 or more Highers and Level 6 qualifications.

This improvement has been part of a years long journey for the learners and wider community at Forrester High School and we as a staff are committed to continuing to ensure the highest quality of learning and teaching alongside our wide curriculum offer. We are incredibly proud of all of our learners and the successes they have experienced in recent years and are excited to continue to support even more learners reach these benchmarks in the future.

Activities Day 2026

Activities Day 2026 will take place on Wednesday 24^th and Thursday 25^th June. Pupils will have the opportunity to take part in a wide range of activities both in and out of school. Information about activities, including costs, can be found in the PowerPoint. Choices must be submitted via Microsoft Forms linked below by Friday 16^th January. We will then be in touch to confirm allocated activities and provide payment details where required.

Current S4 and S5 pupils should only make choices for Thursday 25^th June as they will take part in an S5/S6 Induction on the Wednesday.

P7 Open Afternoon

Forrester High School would like to invite parents of P7s who are interested in sending their child here to an open afternoon on Friday 7^th November from 1:25pm until 3:25pm. You will have the chance to tour the school, see some of our facilities and ask staff questions around the curriculum and learner experience.

We are proud of the achievements and successes of our young people and seek to support them during their time with us to reach their goals and aspirations. Our examination results at Higher and Level 6 are among the best in the city, and our young people routinely go on to a wide range of positive destinations when they leave us. As a school we are committed to delivering the best possible experience to our young people and helping them to thrive with all our work underpinned by our core values of Respect, Believe and Achieve.

We look forward to meeting you throughout the afternoon and welcoming you and your child as a part of the Forrester community.

Standards and Quality Report

Hello everyone. The Standards and Quality Report for session 2024/25 has been published today and is available on our ‘School Policy Documents’ section of the website. As a school we are delighted that this last year has seen us improve exam results across National 5 and Higher, increase attendance of our pupil, demonstrate improvements in the quality of learning and teaching and have successful visits and feedback from both Education ��Ҵ�ý and City of Edinburgh Council. Everyone is the building is so proud that we are able to share these improvements with you today. As parents your ongoing support is key to the success that our young people are gaining and experiencing, and we look forward to continuing to work together to achieve even more in the coming 12 months.

Happy EID AL-FITR

This week represents the end of Ramadan for our Muslim pupils who have been observing prayers and fasting and the celebration of Eid al-Fitr. On behalf of the staff here at Forrester I would like to extend our wish that Eid al-Fitr brings peace, happiness and prosperity to all. Eid Mubarak.
